What do you get when you take an old racing Multi-hull and put a Blind guy at the helm, a Paraplegic man on Sail Trim, a Tactician with Cerebral Palsy and an Autistic Surfer riding the beam?
You get a crew that can inspire the world and a story few people can tell.
That is the mission of a team of Sailors and Watermen based out of San Diego, California. They are called Waves4All. They are a group of volunteers that have been working to provide authentic ocean experiences for individuals with disabilities and their families since 2016.
To experience this firsthand is the story of a lifetime. “The goal is to now grow our sailing operation and network so we can invite even more people with disabilities to get onboard. We know times are tough for people right now so as soon as we’re able we hope to start taking individuals and their families back out on the water to help re-connect them with the Wind and the Waves”.
A GoFundme has launched in an effort to acquire supplies and to make the necessary modifications. To learn more or contribute go here to GoFundMe or visit www.Waves4All.org.
